Informational webinar session on the Common App and how to submit for the 2025 Design Awards Program

Please join us for an informational webinar session on the Common App and how to submit for the 2025 Design Awards Program.

This year, we are offering two options to submit based on the AIA Framework For Design Excellence:

The AIA Framework for Design Excellence is a tool developed by the AIA. This tool aims to help transform the day-to-day practice of architects to achieve a zero-carbon, equitable, resilient, and healthy built environment.

This year, we are offering two options to submit your project to the Design Awards for 2025.

  • Option one: Like last year, we ask simple yet meaningful yes/no questions that focus on design strategies and processes based on the AIA Framework for Design Excellence.

  • Option two: Upload your completed Common App for Design Excellence. The Common App for Design Excellence is an Excel-based tool adopted by state and local AIA Chapters nationwide as part of their Design Awards process. The Common App tool is based on the AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence and produces a spider chart to visually represent your project's performance as it relates to the Framework.Design Committee chair Paul Lewandowski will discuss the Common App for Design Excellence and how firms may elect to use it for the 2025 submission.

The Common App is an Excel-based tool that has been adopted by state and local AIA Chapters across the country as part of their Design Awards process.

Design Committee chair Paul Lewandowski will discuss the Common App for Design Excellence and how firms may elect to use it for the 2025 submission.

Executive Director Jeannette Schram will review the submission software, provide top-line details about the AIA's Framework for Design Excellence, and discuss why AIA Maine has formatted our Design Awards submission to match that framework.
